Noah’s Trip to Moab

This is Noah’s first Blog entry.

Last weekend me, my dad, my cousins and Grandpa went to Moab, UT. We did many fun things together. At the campsite we saw a rattle snake. We slept in the back of the Yukon instead of the tent.
We hiked Delicate Arch at sunset. We got to climb steep rocks and explore caves.

We rode our bikes on the slick rock trail. I rode all the way up the last hill.

My dad surprised me with a 4x4 Hummer tour. We drove all up and down the rocks. We found dinosaur tracks and we even went up a hill backwards.

This is me climbing a huge sand dune. Then we decided to run down it. While I was running down I tripped and sand filled up my mouth. You can see it in my teeth.

On the way home we went to the Cleveland Lloyd dinosaur quarry. There are 46 Allosaurus there. Awesome!

HOLY MOHAWK BATMAN!

I'm going to spare you the details, because it will just make me look like a bad mom...so here is Noah's very scruffy 'before' picture:
And here's the 'after':
Kind of unsettling, I know.
Don't worry, it only lasted 2 days. Brian came home from Maryland and buzzed it right off. Noah is back to his clean-cut and very handsome self.

YARD WORK

I'm really starting to think that this yard is bigger than we are. It seems like lately all of our free time is spent in the yard with no end in sight. Here is my little helper. I was attempting to pull out bushes and plant perennials. But it was more like this: dig a hole, fish a rock out of Milo's mouth, put a plant in the hole, fish a pansy out of Milo's mouth, cover the plant with dirt, fish a piece of bark out of Milo's mouth, water the new plant, replant the flower Milo just pulled out. It took hours, but man he's cute!

I'm pretty sure despite my best efforts, Milo ingested about 14 pounds of dirt that day. It was a great day.

Here's Lillie playing in our little Strawberry patch in our side yard. She was scooping and mixing the dirt so I asked her what she was making? Of course, I expected one of the typical answers: a cake, a pie, cookies...so you can imagine my complete surprise when she replied, "vile booty!"I about died. Thank you Magic Treehouse books.

OUTSIDE

We love living right next to our little creek and trail. Brian and I love the sound of the water and the kids love to play in it. Here they are taking a break after riding bikes to throw rocks in the water.

We love having access to this great trail next to our house. Great for running and bike rides. Here's Lillie on her trike, her mouth is open because she's singing "I am awesome!" over and over. I have to agree.

Love these kids! Milo's looking a little distressed, probably a bit squished.

Chloe has mastered the two-wheeler. We are so happy for her. She was pretty amazing and very determined, after just a couple crashes she had it down.

Don't you just love summer?
