A Fast Summer

I can't believe how fast our summer has gone! We absolutely love
our lazy summer days. At the beginning of the summer we made a huge list of goals we wanted to do this summer. From camping to floating rivers to finishing the Book of Mormon. We ended up checking off every goal! Here's a quick peek into just a few of them:We are major homebodies and love to just hang out in the backyard.
Lillie love bugs and is constantly catching them
(and bringing them inside!)
She names most of them Arthur.
Here she is with a preying mantis.
Brian and Noah on their way to the
Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication.
What handsome boys.

Cahoon family hike to Timpanogos Cave.
In the rain, of course.

Smores in the backyard.

For my birthday this year, we went to Temple Square as a family.
After spending some time in the Visitors Centers
we had dinner at The Roof.
It was a fabulous day. I think we'll make it a Birthday tradition.

This hot air balloon landing in the park in our backyard.
We watched it come
down and when it landed we all raced outside (yes, in our jammies).
The pilot was so nice, he took Noah and Chloe up about 50 feet
and then
let them help him deflate the balloon. A once in a lifetime opportunity!
Noah at Interstate Brick Plant for the Cahoon Family Reunion
and tour of Cahoon Family sites in Salt Lake City.
Lagoon with cousins.
They had a fabulous time!
Who knew life could be so good?

Lillie with cousin Addy. We didn't catch many (or any!)
pictures of the big kids. They were off riding the 'big rides'.

Floating the Provo River.
There you go, a very small glimpse into our fun summer!
We're sad it's over!

Summer vacation to Yellowstone

This summer our family vacationed in Island Park and ventured
into Yellowstone (with much of Brian's fam).
This was our first day in Yellowstone and I was
so excited about these bison that I made us pull over and
jump out for a quick photo. See him way in the back?
Little did I know, we would see a lot more...and get
a LOT closer.

I think Chloe's most vivid memory of our trip is the SMELL.
After a while, we couldn't even get her out of the car
because of the smelly geysers.
We can't get Noah to eat eggs anymore.

LOTS of geysers.
Back in Island Park,
a cousin bike ride from the cabin to a fishing pond.
All the kids caught fish!

I love this picture of Chloe. Darling. We have a picture of my mom as a little girl picking yellow wildflowers that looks just like this one. Chloe played in this wildflower field while everyone else fished. That's Chloe for ya.

Noah and cousin Jake exploring the pond.

Lillie Mae kept up with the big kids.

Jet skiing in Island Park.
Chloe and cousin Emmy.

When we got to Old Faithful it was windy, cold and raining.
And we were in shorts, tee-shirts and forgot our jackets. The girls
scored these cute pink Yellowstone hoodies. The rest of us
donned plastic ponchos and waited out the storm.
A fun memory.
Waiting...waiting...waiting...
for Old Faithful.
In the rain.
It. was. awesome.

It was a great trip. The kids were awesome and have lots
of fun memories they are still talking about.
